PWJ Architects produced this scheme for a contemporary housing development in Ascot for Tilbe Land. The concept embraces the enclosed leafy nature of the site provided by existing mature trees and focuses the houses inwards in a courtyard style development. The local palette of materials is used in a contemporary way - brick, slate and render with softening timber as well as the use of full height glazing and zinc to the private rear garden areas. A coherent urban identity and sense of place is created within the site where the lack of vernacular character leaves nothing to respond to.
