This substantial refurbishment of a Grade II Listed farmhouse took the approach of juxtaposing historic fabric with contemporary details. Floor levels were lowered to introduce under-floor heating with a dedicated ground source heatpump central heating system.

 

A contemporary glass box addition connected old and new elements to give a light and more open plan arrangement. A new stainless steel, oak and glass staircase framed the newly discovered well position, complementing and contrasting the original character.
